Blog
Hello friends!
My name’s Carmen and I’m a qualified Food Coach and Reiki Practitioner based in Melbourne. I have been on a quest to live a healthier lifestyle through healthy eating, Reiki, yoga, and meditation.
My own personal battle with illness led me on my journey to discover just how powerful food is in sustaining or destroying our health and wellbeing. My journey also led me to discover that our emotional state (amongst other factors) also plays an important role in our overall health.
My hope for my blog is that it be a supportive environment where you can discover something that will inspire and assist you on your own personal journey to health.
With love,
Carmen xo

Healthy Gluten-Free Banana Bread
(Refined sugar-free, gluten-free, soy-free) Forget those sugar-laden banana breads from cafes and supermarkets. I’ve created a super-moist and not-too-sweet gluten-free banana bread. This can be eaten on its own or served with yoghurt. I like to put some chopped...
Gut-Health and 3 Steps to Prevent Disease
What Is Gut-Health? There has been lots of talk recently about ‘gut-health’, and there’s a good reason for this. Hidden within the walls of your digestive system is what’s known as ‘your second brain’ and this ‘brain in your gut’ is changing the way that we look at...

Considering a Gluten-Free Diet?
Once upon a time, having to eat a gluten-free diet meant a very limited range of tasty choices. However, because of the rise in awareness for the need of gluten-free products, manufacturers are stepping up their efforts to produce them. If you do have to go on a...

Healthy Halloween Puddings

Lemon Curd
I love lemons! Lemons are one staple in my kitchen and I use them every morning in warm water as my first drink of the day (read more about lemons in my blog post here). I also love lemon curd, but the ones sold in supermarkets are loaded with sugar and other...
Kiwano (Horned Melon)
The kiwano (also known as a horned melon) is a fruit that originates from Africa and probably isn't very well known, (or at least not in my part of the world at the moment)! The kiwano contains omega fatty acids and lots of antioxidants, and has a good amount...
Red Cabbage, Spinach & Pineapple Warm Salad Stir-Fry
Gluten-free, sugar free, dairy free, soy free. Serves 4 – 6 (as a side dish). This salad is packed full of nutrients, and the pineapple imparts a sweet, tropical flavour to this dish. When cutting the pineapple into pieces, if you find that the core is...
Gluten-Free Hot Cross Buns

The Big ‘C’ Word
